Allow myself to introduce...myself

For almost two decades, Alex Loomis has been a writer and creative director at some of the best agencies in San Francisco, London and New York. On that road, he's worked on and been the creative lead for some of the best-known brands in the world – The North Face, Electronic Arts, AT&T, Jaguar Cars, Charles Schwab and New York Life – just to name drop a few. But the lure of what's possible has drawn him back to the magical brew of creativity and innovation that is the Silicon Valley.

He's got some thick heavy Pencils for both interactive and traditional work. Read his name in various copies of D&AD, Communication Arts, Adweek and Advertising Age. And stockpiled an impressive number of unused vacation days. Still, his parents still have no idea what he does.

After bouncing from Australia to Indonesia to Kazakhstan and back as ECD on the global Chevron account, he took on a new challenge by joining a Silicon Valley startup that is reinventing radio. Now his work bounces him between the present and the future.

He was recruited to run Chevron for McGarryBowen from the New York office of Havas Worldwide. There he ran the iconic Charles Schwab account as well as pitching, winning and rebranding New York Life. He also worked on Dos Equis Beer and Jaguar Cars (though never at the same time, of course).

Previously, he worked at BBDO New York on the AT&T account as well as M&Ms, GE and Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA).

Prior to BBDO, Alex was a partner at PCD, an interactive design agency, responsible for clients such as Volkswagen, McDonald's and Kraft Foods. And before that, he opened the London office of Odiorne, Wilde, Narraway and Partners as creative lead on the Electronic Arts account for all of Europe. Starting out, he cut his creative teeth on The North Face account for Blazing Paradigm.

The only way to stand out in San Francisco in those days was to do the work faster, cheaper and less traditional. Lessons that have stuck with him throughout his career.
